BAGUIO City has come to an agreement with its neighboring municipalities –  La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tuba and Tublay (LISTT) – to extend the validity of certain medical certificates for people crossing the borders.

Under existing border guidelines, certain non-authorized persons outside residence (APOR) are now allowed to present medical certificates or medical clearances that were issued from February 1 to 15 at checkpoints until the end of the month.

The certificates and clearances were previously meant to lose their validity earlier, but under the new guidelines this has been extended.

The extension of medical certificate and clearance validity is intended to decongest Baguio’s hospitals by spreading out the visits of patients from LISTT seeking medical services in the city throughout the month.

Along with the guidelines, Baguio has also declared its commitment to cooperate with the demands and restrictions the LISTT governments have put in place at the borders for the safety of their residents, as well as future assistance in providing medical supplies for the neighboring municipalities.

Under the guidelines, until February 28, APORs crossing the borders into Baguio must show employee and professional IDs at the checkpoints, and any document as proof of work in the city.

Non-work travel is only allowed with the presentation of medical certificate or clearance at the checkpoints across Baguio borders.
